Ignacio Azpiroz

Ignacio Azpiroz is a Uruguayan economist and executive in the pension sector. He is currently the CEO of AFAP Itaú and a Board Member of the National Association of AFAPs (ANAFAP) in Uruguay. He has 30 years of experience in the pension fund industry.

Mr. Azpiroz has also served as president of ANAFAP, the organization that brings together the private pension fund administrators in Uruguay, promoting individual savings and contributing to the public debate on social security policy and pension education. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad de la República. In addition, he holds the CFA, CAIA, and FRM certifications.
