Gary Yee

Mr. Yee serves as a National Representative for the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) at their Burnaby, British Columbia office, where he holds the position of pension coordinator. With over 29 years of experience in labour relations, contract administration, and pensions, Mr. Yee plays a pivotal role in managing pension issues in British Columbia.

As the CUPE pension coordinator, he specializes in various types of pension plans, including defined benefit, defined contribution, and hybrid plans. He represents CUPE BC on the Municipal Employees Pensions Committee, which is the Plan Member partner in the Municipal Pension Plan, and chairs the Municipal Employee Pension Advisory Committee. Additionally, he serves as the staff advisor for the CUPE BC Pension Committee.

Mr. Yee is currently the Vice-Chair of the BC Municipal Pension Plan, which is the largest pension plan in British Columbia and the sixth-largest in Canada. The Board of Trustees for this plan consists of 32 members, including both primary and alternate trustees.

In addition to these roles, Mr. Yee is also Co-Chair of the Multi-Sector Pension Plan, a target benefit plan based in Ontario, and serves as the independent Board Chair for the Grande Prairie Firefighters Supplemental Pension Plan in Alberta. Furthermore, he is a director on the BC Pension Corporation Board, responsible for the administration of public pension funds in British Columbia.
