Antonio Sibaja has 30 years of extensive experience in the financial sector. He has held various positions at the Bank of Mexico, where he contributed to the implementation of exchange rate policy and the monitoring of emerging economies. He also participated in supervisory missions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
He has served as an executive at several administrators within Mexico’s pension system. He is currently the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Profuturo, the largest pension fund in Latin America by assets under management, with more than USD 100 billion under management. Under his leadership, Profuturo has ranked first in industry returns for ten consecutive years. During his tenure, the firm also received Morningstar’s Gold Medal in recognition of the excellence of the investment process he leads; a distinction shared by only six other target-date funds worldwide.
The investment portfolio under his leadership is a TDF multi-asset and includes alternative investments —including private equity—, fixed income, equities, currencies, and derivative instruments. Since 2022, Antonio has chaired the Investment Committee of AMAFORE.
Antonio holds a B.A. in Economics from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, where he graduated with the University Merit Medal (summa cum laude), and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
