Josémaría Bolio has more than 25 years of experience in the financial sector. He joined Principal México as CEO of Principal Afore in August 2020. He is responsible for the company’s strategy and operations, as well as managing relationships with key sectors, regulators, and other industry participants in the country.

Previously, he worked at CIBanco for seven years as Executive Director of Retail Banking. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Banco Compartamos, Ixe Grupo Financiero, Grupo Elektra, and Citigroup, where he gained experience in areas such as retail banking, innovation, corporate entrepreneurship, customer experience, and business unit management.

Josémaría holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Panamericana and an Executive MBA from IPADE Business School. He also completed programs in Portfolio Management, Leadership, Disruptive Innovation, and Microfinance at Harvard Business School.
