Natalia Gallardo is Director of Research at the Pension Fund Administrator (AFP) Cuprum, a company of Principal Financial Group. Her work focuses on assessing the quantitative and qualitative impacts of proposals aimed at modifying Chile’s pension system. Following the implementation of the 2025 pension reform, her role also includes communicating the main changes and their implications for affiliates and companies, as well as developing technical proposals to improve aspects that are still pending implementation.
Between 2009 and 2020, she held several positions at the Central Bank of Chile. She served as Senior Economist in the International Analysis Department of the Monetary Policy Division (2017–2020) and previously as advisor to the President of the Central Bank (2014–2016). Earlier in her career, she worked as an analyst in the Financial Policy Division, where she contributed to banking system stress testing exercises and led the team responsible for the Household Finance Survey.
Natalia holds a degree in Business and Economics (Ingeniera Comercial) from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master’s in Economics, with a specialization in Financial Economics, from the same university. She also holds a Master of Finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
